What the CDC has to say on work-related musculoskeletal disorders and ergonomics.
Highlights
Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are correlated with higher costs to employers.
On average, MSDs resulted in 8 days away from work compared to 6 days for non-fatal illnesses/injuries.
Work practices and policy changes can be used instead of or supplement engineering controls (equipment, physical layout, etc.)
